This is a discussion point in a way…

I really like that the Artist view only shows Album Artists - In a large collection it really stops things getting bogged down, AND it keeps things fast, BUT there is a hole where searching for tracks by artists that aren’t “Full Artists” becomes tricky - The data is there.

Is there a compromise for “Compilation Only Artists” with a default image and no extra data that only appear when searched?

I completely agree. It might be a bit clearer if it was labelled ‘Album Artists’, but that’s being really pedantic.

Personally, I’ve never found a view that shows every artist very useful, especially if you have a lot of multi artist compilations. I’d just like the artist search to not only show any albums that the artist has but also list the compilation tracks where they appear.
