Tracks not completing with os27 Golden Gate

I took the plunge and moved over to Golden Gate at the weekend but now I’m getting some tracks not completing. A track can get to 70-80% and even though it looks like it’s buffered enough it’ll just stop as if I’ve paused. Restarting will start the track from the beginning. I’m quite prepared to be told that it’s my network or NAS that’s at fault but I ran the usual housekeeping checks and all seems to be fine and I don’t have a problem playing through Plexamp.

EDIT - I also don’t get the problem streaming through to the Chord Poly which does kinda suggest that it might be an os27 glitch?

Just thought I’d mention it, in case anyone else has experienced this.

Hi @Wil ,

First things first. The macOS app is a little behind the iOS version. It’s still in review at Apple and it’s been almost a week. It is quite unusual and right now I don’t know what is going on.

My updates are picked up for review in a few hours and they are approved the same day but not this time. Wait for 1.0.9 on the mac and try again.

Secondly, it doesn’t sound like something Serento does, but to be sure, turn on your logs, play some music, wait for the behaviour to happen and then send the logs to me.

I will take a look maybe I can tell you if it’s your network or Serento.

In my experience it is 90% of the time the streamer and 10% the server. I’ll give you a two examples:

  1. The streamer sometimes simply refuses http calls. There’s no explanation as to why, it simply does not respond as expected. In these cases Serento keeps trying to get an answer from the streamer, but there is a chance that in the time it takes to respond something weird happens. My Rockna Wavedream NET does this and sometimes it does not respond to me pressing the next button or other actions. It’s rare, but it does happen. I always blame Serento until I look at the logs and see that Rockna just doesn’t care.
  2. On the mac Mini running MinimServer and Plex, the port used for DLNA communication can be taken by the app that starts first (Plex or MinimServer) and never get released. So I can see only one of them on the network. The solution is to restart the mac Mini.

Either way, I suggest you wait for version 1.0.9 on the mac.

Thanks for your patience.

Lorin.

No problem. Thanks for the reply.

The app has been finally approved.

Please try again.

Thanks,

Lorin.
