When Genre diffing, current behaviour groups everything under a master genre (Say Jazz) with everything that is a sub-genre. While this is generally a good thing for some cases it really isn’t - It would be nice to have a faux sub-genre that represents “Pure” albums so if you have albums tagged as Jazz you can see them under Jazz with all it’s sub-genres but also in “Pure Jazz” underneath but without the sub-genres.
(We totally need a better name than “Pure” but the concept stands)
A good example of where this stands out is Blues where Rhythm & Blues sits underneath alongside Blues Rock and I wouldn’t use other Blues subgenres.
